Drinks industry professionals are invited to take part in this year’s Run Bacchus, a half marathon aimed at raising awareness and funds for drinks trade charity The Benevolent.
The event is cordinated by Peter Richards MW, Susie Barrie MW, Julia Trustram-Eve and Lucy Marcuson, and already numbers over 30 runners. Among them are Nik Darlington from Graft Wine (formerly Red Squirrel), Black Chalk winemaker Jacob Leadley, Gusbourne's Charlie Holland and runners from Bancroft, Chapel Down, Ridgeview and Waitrose.
The half marathon will take place on Sunday 8 September, starting from and finishing at Denbies Wine Estate near Dorking, Surrey. Half the course is inside the estate itself, while the other half passes through National Trust countryside and along the Pilgrims Way and the North Downs Way.
Members of the trade are encouraged to take part by running or supporting the team on the day, and by donating to The Benevolent via the justgiving page.
