BARS MANAGER WITH EXTRA FIZZ
We're looking for a Bars Manager with extra fizz. Pre-opening you will be responsible for working with a newly appointed team to establish all venue operating procedures and creating SOP files for all activity and equipment across bar operations to ensure they can be the best they can be.
You will assist with the recruitment of a new team and undertake intensive training sessions supported by training Ambassadors to ensure all teams are familiar with all SOP's and use of equipment prior to first event.
Support the receipt of deliveries of all new inventory, and establish stock levels and stores across the venue and controls to protect stocks. You will be all over H&S policies.
* Responsible for helping to maintain a customer-focused culture which support the values expressed in the Wales Ambition and business goals of profitability and service quality.
* Establishes and maintain effective and positive relationships within the team as well as other departments.
* Complies with the Wales Health and safety, Hygiene policies as well as all other policies and procedures.
* Report all situations that may present a danger to guests or staff immediately to the relevant people and take action to rectify the situation if possible.
* To ensure that resources are used effectively, minimising waste to protect our environment and to reduce costs.
* To perform related duties and special assignments as and when required.
Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual budgets in conjunction with the Convention Centre director
Responsible for the recruitment, management and the disciplinary process in conjunction with the Human Resources Department for all employees within the department(s).
Responsible for the welfare and wellbeing of all departmental employees, promoting the professional career development of the team.
Responsible for ensuring that all staff appraisals are conducted routinely and effectively for all employees within the department(s) and that the results are actioned where required to ensure a personal development plan is set and maintained for each member of the team in the department.
Manages the day-to-day operation of the Convention Centre bars set up and service.
Maintains complete knowledge of:
* Daily scheduled group functions, times, locations, amount of people and specified requirements
* Location of all function space and names of rooms
* Correct maintenance and use of equipment
* All departmental/hotel policies and procedures
* All safety guidelines
* Ensures all appropriate information is communicated to the team on a timely basis.
Establishes and maintains effective and positive relationships with his/her own team as well as with other departments.
Checks storage areas for par levels and proper supplies, organisation and cleanliness. Instruct designated personnel to rectify any cleanliness/organisation deficiencies.
Retrieves and organises Conference function sheets and amendments according to departmental standards.
Prepares weekly and Daily work schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labour forecasts. Adjusts schedules throughout the week to meet the business demands.
Documents any late or absent employees and takes appropriate action.
Inspects the pre-set scheduled function areas/rooms for cleanliness, working condition and proper furniture/equipment set up; rectifies any deficiencies with respective departments.
Conducts pre-function briefings and reviews all information pertinent to set-up and service of group.
Ensures all team members are groomed and attired to the required standard.
Assigns designated keys to team members. Maintains accurate record of such and ensures security of keys
Responsible for cash float and safe contents and for ensuring all revenue is posted accurately and relevant accounting paperwork is completed correctly
Constantly monitors team members' performance in all phases of service and job functions, ensuring that all procedures are carried out to departmental standards: ensures deficiencies are rectified.
Liases with Event Managers and clients, makes introduction and ensures that all arrangements are agreeable.
Anticipates guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
Is familiar with all services/features and local attractions/activities to respond accurately to any guest inquiries.
Monitors and handles guest complaints effectively to ensure guest satisfaction.
Monitors and maintains cleanliness and working condition of departmental equipment, supplies and work areas. Ensures that team members handle equipment safely and according to procedures.
Completes work orders for maintenance repairs and submits to Engineering.
Contacts Engineering directly for urgent repairs.
Ensures that resources are used effectively, minimising waste and recycling wherever possible, to protect our environment and reduce costs. Documents pertinent information in department handover diary.
Complete all paperwork and closing duties in accordance with departmental standards.
Complies with the Venue Health and Safety, and Fire policies as well as all other policies and procedures.
Is responsible for C&B cash safe, organising and managing floats and all department cash handling.
Is responsible for the management of Micros and ensuring the team members have the correct operators rights.
Performs related duties and special assignments as and when required.
