As CTO you'll need to provide sound technical leadership in all aspects of our business, who will communicate with employees, stakeholders and customers to ensure our company's technologies are used appropriately.
Being dynamic in development, thinking outside the box and creating a team who can move quickly for test & learn purposes. Strategic thinking and strong business acumen are essential as well as being an excellent communicator. You will be well-versed in current technological trends and familiar with a variety of business concepts.
You will be accountable for IT strategy and system roadmap to deliver MWWL business strategy. The key part of this role will be to build a high performing team (mix of internal & third party partners) to deliver IT solutions efficiently and profitably, aligned with business priorities, whilst ensuring ongoing service delivery in accordance with security and audit controls.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Responsible for MWWL IT strategy and system roadmap to ensure successful delivery of business strategy as well as building system continuity plans.
Being able to see the potential and often create a 'quick and dirty' experience for test purposes.
Balancing innovative projects with structural, systemic initiatives to move the business forward whilst ensuring the stability and longevity of the core systems and structure.
To understand the AS IS and develop the TO BE architecture for MWWL business and build partner relationships to deliver this within agreed time frame and budgets.
Responsible for overall IT budget.
To build and manage a high performing IT team (both internal and third party) to deliver and support IT solutions in line with budget.
To manage all IT third party partners and IT contracts to ensure a high level of service in line with agreed SLAs and contractual terms.
Successfully manage IT portfolio to ensure IT projects are delivered on time and to budget in line with business priorities.
Responsible for all security and IT policies including IT Data Protection and Disaster Recovery Plans.
To provide risk management and audit controls to update external auditors/Audit Risk Committee.
Working closely with all areas of the business to understand their needs and deliver business goals.
Knowledge & Skills:
Proven track record of success in previous IT leadership role
Experience in being agile and create a test & learn environment within development
Demonstrable experience of delivering IT solutions within a retail environment
Portfolio and change management
Experience of service delivery & delivering to agreed SLAs
Experience of outlining security & IT policies and ensuring systems data and security compliance
Managing third parties & IT contracts
Managing and developing in-house IT team
Be able to articulate risk management & issue resolution
Excellent reporting & presentation skills
Accountable for decisions taken by self and direct reports
Accept responsibility and delegate with confidence across teams and organisation
Strategic thinking and a sound level of business acumen
Well organised and strong leadership skills with exceptional customer relationship skills, able to quickly build and maintain relationships both externally and internally
