Job Description :

Finance business partner roles are at the heart of the Finance Operating Model, providing valuable guidance and support to the organisation. Finance business partners own the performance agenda including delivery of all financial metrics whilst ensuring a robust control and risk management environment.

They are pro-active members of their business management teams, providing financial leadership to challenge and influence the organisation in order to drive value from strategic to operational decision making and execution. They bring insight and rigour across the end to end business performance agenda.

They leverage global finance processes, standards, teams, systems and data to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

To partner with business units and functions to drive business performance through the provision of financial / commercial expertise and insights, whilst owning the delivery of the financial targets and an effective control environment..

Provide support in formulating business strategy and converting strategies into annual operating plans with recommended resource allocation. Plan and deliver all P&L metrics for their area of responsibility including P&L, cash delivery and balance sheet. Delivery of a robust governance and control environment and an effective risk management agenda for the area of the business being partnered. Bring financial rigour to decision making, projects and workstreams in support of Marketing, Innovation, Commercial or Supply. Including:

  • delivering multi-year P&Ls, financial insights and risk identification.

  • scenario-planning and sensitivity analysis of key performance drivers,

  • reviewing all P&L inputs received from various members of the business (including Commercial Innovation, Product Costing, Marketing and Sales)

  • identifying opportunities to strengthen profitability or reduce financial.

Support the performance management process to ensure delivery of all metrics. Including gap identification, appraisal and approval of measures to improve performance outcomes. Identify all critical business opportunities, risks and initiatives and provide best practice financial analysis and insights to support decision making. Identify opportunities to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness of all finance activities. Develop an engaging environment that allows finance professionals to develop themselves and their careers.

  • Credible and strong working relationship required with all key business leaders including Commercial, Supply, Marketing and Innovation

  • Act as trusted business advisor to all members of the business area being supported in order to challenge and support the business to improve overall performance

  • Strong relationships across Business Shared services to drive efficiency and effectiveness in all our core processes

  • Where appropriate relationships with global Finance functions including Tax/ Treasury / Governance, Audit and Risk / FP&R

  • External Service Providers - maintain high level supplier relationships

  • Business performance management - The ability to track, analyse & present actual financial results (versus forecast, plan or prior periods) and non-financial information to enable the right decisions and/or course corrections to be made.

  • Strategic thinking - The ability to think how the business/market could/should be different in the future. The ability to utilise internal and external information to understand the operating environment and implications for the business. The ability to utilise the wider business perspective to understand the impact of strategic choices and resource allocation decisions across the value chain (from supply to point of sale).

  • Managing risk - The ability to identify, capture and manage risks at appropriate levels.

  • Internal control - The ability to understand the Control Assurance and Risk Management (CARM) framework (financial and non-financial controls), its purpose and how it is best used to guide the controls we operate and seek assurance over to mitigate different types of risk.

  • Accounting principles The ability to understand and implement technical accounting principles including group IFRS and local
    statutory requirements.

  • Support decision making - The ability to understand the levers to drive efficient growth & make the right business decision based on data, analysis and the
    wider business context.

  • Degree educated with relevant professional qualification (CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA/MBA) - not necessarily a qualified accountant

  • Experience in an global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment and demonstrating commercial acumen

  • Leading delivery of a financial business partner model in a global shared services environment
