Job Description :
To provide finance and business performance management support to the North America Distillation and Maturing Operations. Specifically:
Accountable for maturing liquid costing and analysis for Diageo's North American Distillation & Maturing business (whiskey and rum).
Lead ongoing business performance management and review across distillation and maturing sites.
Lead the development of the distillation and maturing annual plan, delivery of financial results and development and implementation of strategic initiatives.
Identify & pro-actively manage risks and opportunities and provide performance insights.
Lead accurate, timely and financially astute balance sheet management.
Lead effective and efficient compliance, ethics and controls activities. Identifying and proactively managing risks across the businesses.
Lead the development/execution of best in class tools and techniques to drive simpler, faster and better reporting and decision-making.
Decision Making / Financial Responsibility
The Finance Manager, Distillation & Maturation is responsible for managing approximately $900M in inventory, ~$45M in annual plant operating overheads and annual distillation volumes of +66M LPA.
Reports to Finance Director, Supply Operations
Manage and influence stakeholders across multiple sites and other functions such as Operations, Procurement, Supply Planning and the Blenders

Key Outputs / Deliverables
Lead the annual operating budget, monthly actual and R&O processes for distillation and maturing.
Lead the annual costing and standards setting process for maturing liquids.
Lead simplification and process improvements efforts for the costing and reporting processes.
Ensure compliance with Diageo's policies and procedures.
Provide costing support for key projects & initiatives.
Provide financial oversight and exceptional business partnering support to for all Third-Party operations.
5+ years of financial management/costing experience, preferably within a manufacturing or fast moving & complex consumer goods environment.
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required; a professional accounting designation or MBA is preferred.
Knowledge of the beverage alcohol industry supply chain desirable (particularly distillation & maturation operations).
Understanding of costing & accounting processes, planning & analysis, and internal controls.
Strong PC & systems expertise and SAP knowledge.
Proven ability to distill out complex business issues, provide logical, compelling and clear plans for action.
Requires excellent leadership/networking skills and ability to lead and influence change.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Ability to travel required.
