We have some of the most iconic spirits brands within the Scotch & Reserve category. This role offers an opportunity to make a fundamental shift in the way we engage with our consumers on the subject of sustainability through their engagement with our brands

VISON FOR THE ROLE
Pioneer a "grain to glass" approach to sustainability through the lens of our brands Signal Diageo's intent with an inspiring consumer facing comms delivered on a set of sustainability-based projects on Scotch + Reserve brands We shall set in motion near term, long term initiatives that disrupt the category narrative on sustainability Most importantly, he/she shall use the power of our brands to engage consumers and make sustainable purchasing decisions aspirational.
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
As the Global Sustainability Director for Scotch & Reserve Brands, the person will lead a unique & exciting initiative within Diageo.
The person will have to.
Set-up a strong & collaborative cross-functional team that supports this vison Orchestrate a viable long-term consumer & customer centric sustainability program deliver multiple projects that enhances JW's sustainability credentials based on strong consumer insights Create an exciting set of consumer-facing sustainability programs that deliver our vision Deliver a compelling consumer narrative: comms + PR + Shopper programs for the above projects that drive equity with consumers Create a compelling consumer facing learning plan which enables us to pivot & make it bigger & better as we start this journey Orchestrate the roll-out plan within markets: create an infectious drive to execute these initiatives as a means to making a significant difference Rally global teams, supply and market stake-holders towards the larger outcome on sustainability. Build the learning/ codify sustainability-based programs for brands & set a robust template for other Diageo brands to follow & roll-out
Set-up a passionate cross-functional team across different parts of the organization - rally their significant skills & experiences to establish a set of bold sustainability goals for our Brand/s Starting with one of our iconic brands establish material & important workstreams that help achieve this bold ambition Deliver the first set of workstreams in the latter half of F20. Deliver the medium- & long-term sustainability goals through a longer set of projects rolled-out in F21 and beyond Establish a roadmap on how other brands within Diageo can approach the subject of sustainability
The scope, delivery, leadership & the impact of the role is expected to be felt across all parts of Diageo & within the category.
Has experience in deliver a cross-functional consumer facing outcome (eg: innovation/marketing transition projects). Understands how to work with insights, has good judgement in concept development Has experience/deep understanding on reputation critical initiatives & is passionate about sustainability Used to working within a matrix organization, can cut through the organization to create change A functional expert in marketing, innovation, supply concepts & rolling-out NTW initiatives. Qualifications and experience required
15+ years' experience. Experience in global, multimarket & complex environments highly desirable. An ability to bring the future to today's world and roadmap actions to make it happen. Tenacity and resilience combined with emotional intelligence to build collaborative and powerful relationships EXCEPTIONAL people management skills Passionate about sustainability Equally passionate about brands
