National Account Manager,Walmart Sales Operations


Job Description :

Context/Scope: Responsible for Walmart and Sam's Club division level selling activities. The NAM position will be responsible for the in-store retail execution, wholesaler alignment and division level selling of approved Walmart and Sam's Club programming. This position will align to the national programming and strategies set forth by the spirits category buyers in Bentonville, AR.

Management Responsibility
Responsible for locally influencing of the national and local programs approved by Walmart and Sam's Club, which will deliver the volume and profit plan. Regularly monitor and communicate performance against display execution, out of stocks, performance voids and planogram space. Submit to senior director, proposals relative to business spending needs that will drive incremental volume

Strategic Responsibility
Has high level of authority/opportunity to set and negotiate product/service terms. Plans account approach and manages own resources within Diageo standards. Works with Distributor sales teams who are key interface with the store managers, district managers and region vice presidents for correct the orchestration and selling to both Walmart and Sam's Club.

Key Outputs:

  • Achievement of Annual Operating Plans

  • Manage wholesaler execution of annual account plan and store level call frequencies

  • Execute annual account plans by off premise national account customer to reflect brand and customer strategies and support the delivery of key business objectives

  • Selling and influencing Walmart and Sam's Club Divisional/Regional Vice Presidents, Replenishment & Merchandising Teams

  • Coordinate all account specific activities across Diageo divisions and distributors

  • Walmart planning - deliver against promotional activation, and customer performance (promotion, pricing, brand equity)

  • Provide input to all account specific category management initiatives

  • Lead the communication process across divisions and wholesaler family

  • Consistently work with distributors and attend QBR's, QBP's and ABP's. Must be strategic and forward thinking. Must always be looking for opportunities to drive the business forward

  • Must be able to develop strong business relationships both internally and externally.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • 4 Year College Degree Required

  • Minimum 7 years' experience required, preferably in CPG or Alcohol Beverage Categories

  • Alcohol Beverage experience preferred

  • Current or recent work history with Walmart preferred

  • Deep understanding of distributor operations including pricing and programming

  • Proven success influencing and negotiating customer strategy and execution

  • Good written & verbal communication skills

  • IRI or Nielsen experience preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint)
