Job Description :

Procurement manages all of the North American spend for Raw Materials, Packaging components, Capital and Third Party through cross-functional interaction and ownership of all external supplier relationships. This team consistently grows shareholder value by driving cost-savings initiatives, and negotiating favorable terms on core business.

About this Role

This is a 12-month, full-time, paid co-op in Procurement. Co-ops are given challenging projects that have an immediate impact on the business. Throughout the year, you will have multiple opportunities for visibility and exposure to sr. management and suppliers. All co-ops receive individual coaching and training from their manager and cross-functional mentor and the same kind of performance feedback given to full-time employees. As a co-op, you have an opportunity to gain the experience and exposure that could lead to an exciting full-time job at Diageo!

Top Accountabilities

  • Execute buying strategies in accordance with agreed upon material buying plans at the optimum cost and quality

  • Lead project work ranging from identifying and introducing potential suppliers into the business, to building process maps and implementing cross-functional ways of working

  • Analyze market and industry conditions to develop supply recommendations

  • Assist with contract negotiations, including competitive analysis, bench-marking industry standards, reviewing total business value (service, quality, etc.) to present business case

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Unrestricted US work authorization now and in the future

  • Legal Drinking Age (21 years) by the start of employment

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • At least two years of coursework towards a Bachelor's Degree

  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to gather and analyze data

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive projects to conclusion

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to communicate with all levels in the organization

  • Confidence, adaptability, and resiliency in challenging situations and a fast-paced environment
