Production Supervisor Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery, Whitchurch


About the role

To deliver quality accurate data acquistion on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and manage the daily supply chain requirements.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Assist in achieving distillery annual output targets working as one team to produce consistent spirit quality within budget and in a safe working environment.

  • Take ownership of production planning and forecasting

  • Place orders for all raw materials and consumables, monitoring and reporting expenditure monthly against budget.

  • Manage all associated administrative work and support the Distillery Manager when needed.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationship with raw material suppliers and transport companies.

  • Work closely with bulk planning team at Westthorn to ensure spirit supply.

  • Participating in the "on call" roster.

  • Assist in the management of all financial & operational documentation for the distillery.

  • Participate in Bacardi communication briefings/meetings and help with development issues and other initiatives where appropriate.

  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of distillery operators and operations/activities by considering current work practices and suggesting alternatives where appropriate.

  • To communicate clearly with the Master Distiller, Distillery Manager and operators on an hourly/daily basis.

  • Take action upon any Environmental, Health and Safety matter brought to their notice, and report to the relevant Manager immediately on any matter which they are unable to rectify.

Assessment of KPIs defined through the the individuals Global Performance System performa.

  • Good team facilitator with ability to work with other functions.

  • Excellent numeric and literacy skills

  • Honest, reliable, trustworthy and resilient

  • Basic understanding of mechanical equipment

  • Basic understanding of control systems

  • Strong computer skills (email, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint)

  • Ability to work under pressure and to work on own initiative

  • At least a basic knowledge of distilling operations and equipment
