Britvic launches zero-abv soft drink Thomas & Evans No.1

Britvic is the latest to jump on the ‘quality adult soft drink’ bandwagon, with the launch of a new incubator for zero-abv drinks, called WiseHead Productions. The first product to launch as part of this is sparkling soft drink Thomas & Evans No.1, named after two entrepreneurs from the temperance days who created non-alcoholic drinks to sell in pubs.

It's made from a blend of three green fruit juices that's charcoal-filtered then combined with 20 distillates of both botanicals and fruit. It’s lightly sparkling and decidedly fragrant, with aromas of peardrops, elderflower and candied ginger. It’s a dry but fruity affair on the palate, with notes of anise and ginger, and more elderflower.

To make this no-abv a bit more special, WiseHead recommends working on presentation too – try it on ice in a large copa with a rosemary sprig to garnish.

Another brand under the WiseHead umbrella is set to launch later this year, with more planned for the next few years.
