Fungtn beer range is brewed with myco adaptogens, a species of fungi that is been historically used for medicinal purposes
The new range clocks in at 0.5% abv and consists of three expressions: Lion's Mane IPA, which the brand claims brings neurotrophic benefits; Chaga Lager, which offers antioxidant properties; and Reishi Citra, designed to help fight free radicals.
Mindful drinking consultant, Zoey Henderson, developed the idea during lockdown, following her discovery of medicinal mushrooms during a trip to California.
'Medicinal mushrooms have been used for thousands of years, and while they are still a relatively new concept here in the UK, more and more people are discovering them,' said Henderson.
The brand claims that 'in addition to the health benefits associated with medicinal mushrooms, brewing the beer with myco adaptogens enhances the depth and body of the beer, resulting in a fuller viscosity and classic beer mouth-feel that is not usually associated with alcohol-free beers'.
