Adnams unveils trio of summer beers

11 May 2016

There can't be many things more summery than a gin-inspired, juniper-flavoured saison beer. And that's just one of three new releases from Adnams for the warmer months to come.

The company knows a thing or two about gin, considering it has its own range, and this has informed the creation of new Juniper Saison. The beer is made with lager malt and Sorachi hops, and joins the Adnams Jack Brand range. Available in cask, keg and bottle, it lands next month, in time for World Gin Day on 11 June.

Ease Up IPA has also been created for the summer, and it's definitely fit for purpose. A US-style IPA, but with a sessionable abv (4.6%), its light grain, subtle fruit and bright grapefruit notes make for a refreshing pint, with a crisp, dry finish. It's already available, and comes in 500ml bottles.

Last in the summery trio is a beer brewed to celebrate what will no-doubt be a sun-drenched Rio 2016 Olympics. Samba City 2016 is a golden wheat beer that will apparently combine citrus aromas with banana notes, along with a creamy, spicy palate. Look out for it in July.

'Taking inspiration from around the globe, each beer offers a distinctive aroma and flavour,' said Adnams head brewer Fergus Fitzgerald. 'We are particularly proud of the Juniper Saison, which unites our knowledge in brewing and distilling to create a unique take on both gin and beer.'
