The money will go directly to the dedicated Covid-19 Emergency Fund to support those in hospitality that have lost income

Anyone ordering from Armit’s website, www.armitwines.co.uk, or by email will also be offered the opportunity to make an a donation themselves and the company will add a free bottle of wine to the order as a thank you. It has also pledged to give £10 to the charity for every trade order placed for over £250.

Armit’s managing director, Brett Fleming said: 'At this most difficult time it is important to recognise the challenges people are facing who have lost their jobs or find themselves out of work through no fault of their own. Here at Armit we are doing all we can to ensure we represent our suppliers' best interests, and in supporting The Drinks Trust in this initiative I am sure we echo their own desires to support those who need it most at this time. It is our pleasure to donate in this way and also offer delicious wines for consumption at home!'

The Drinks Trust’s Covid-19 Emergency Fund is open for applications now and is targeted at those who have been made redundant and subsequently not been reinstated and people on zero hours contracts who do not fulfil the minimum requirements to benefit from the salary grant scheme. Those eligible will need to have worked in the on-trade, off-trade or distribution areas of the drinks industry.
