Been dying for a drink by renowned bartender Shingo Gokan, but haven't yet managed to catch a ride to Shanghai? Can't venture to Singapore for a serve at Manhattan Bar? You're in luck – the team at Artesian at The Langham, London has announced a series of one-night takeovers by some of the world's top bars.
Kicking off later this month and running through London Cocktail Week (4-15 October), the series will see a line-up of bartenders from internationally respected bars crafting five of their signature cocktails alongside two of Artesian's creations.
First up, Andrew Ho and Philip Steiger of Hope & Sesame in Guangzhou will step behind the stick on 18 September. In the days and weeks to follow, Artesian will also welcome Gethin Jones of Cottonopolis in Manchester (22 September); Jonathan Lind and Harrison Ginsberg of Crown Shy in New York City (1 October); David Nguyen-Luu and Sophia Kang of Manhattan Bar in Singapore (2 October); Shingo Gokan of SG Group in Shanghai (4 October); Vasilis Kyritsis and Alex Simonides of The Clumsies in Athens (5 October); Antonio Lai and Samuel Kwok of Quinary in Hong Kong (6 October); and Jack Wakelin of Public in Sheffield (20 October).
What's more, £1 from every drink sold will be donated to industry charity Healthy Hospo, so you can feel philanthropic as you conduct your very important research on international bars.
'I’m really excited about this takeover series,' commented Anna Sebastian, Artesian's bar manager.
'These bars are iconic and venues that I personally admire, so it’s an amazing opportunity for Artesian guests to experience something a bit different here in London for one night only. It’s also the 10th anniversary of London Cocktail Week, so what better way to mark the occasion than to invite the best of the best to showcase their skills here in London?'
