Bacardi releases rum in collaboration with Major Lazer

03 November 2017

If you've been hoping for a musically-inspired rum as of late, you're in luck as Bacardi has announced the release of its first-ever rum variant in collaboration with electronic trio Major Lazer.

The Bacardi X Major Lazer limited edition is a result of the brands 'passion for music' and the Caribbean sound of Major Lazer. Major Lazer’s Diplo, Jillionaire and Walshy Fire worked with the Bacardi maestros de ron (master blenders) to create a rum blend that 'expresses the flavours of the Caribbean'.

Described as having a warm, silky body with tropical fruit, cedar, almond and vanilla notes, the blend is filtered before and after ageing, has a rich amber hue, and has been tropically aged for a minimum of three years.

'Creativity is in our blood. We create music on pretty much a daily basis, but creating our own rum is the stuff of dreams,' revealed Major Lazer member and rum lover, Jillionaire. 'We’ve worked with Bacardi to create this unique blend, something that we feel really embodies The Sound of Rum and links rum and music in a way that’s never been done before.'

The exclusive bottling is priced at just £20 and available to purchase via Amazon.
