Bancroft Wines has announced an ‘exciting’ acquisition, boosting its portfolio in line with its ambitious growth plans.

Since 31 May, it has been in charge of Mason & Mason, a UK based distributor founded and run by husband and wife team Nick and Laura Mason.
‘This is an exciting development in the history of Bancroft Wines and reflects the commitment of both the chairman and the board to long-term investment and growth within this fast-moving market,’ said managing director of Bancroft Wines, Neil McAndrew.
Established in 2002, Mason & Mason specialise in organic and biodynamic wines – which make up a large part of its portfolio - with a ‘farm not factory’ ethos.
Its distinctive selection represents growers who aim for minimal chemical intervention, who view themselves as custodians of the land and are responsible to their communities.
‘We are very excited about creating a successful new partnership with Bancroft Wines. We believe both portfolios complement each other beautifully, echoing our shared philosophy on excellence of product and customer service,’ said owner and co-founder Nick Mason.

‘Represented together, they will take our combined businesses to the next level,’ added Mason, who has long-standing career of over 30 years in the wine industry – having worked as a buyer, salesman, cellar-hand and journalist as well as running Mason & Mason.
Both companies supply the on and off-trade as well as national channels, while Bancroft also serves a number of private clients.
So, it seems like these two distributors make the perfect pairing.
