Bancroft Wines partners with Joseph Perrier

11 May 2017

Bancroft Wines has announced its search for a Grand Marque Champagne house is over. From this month, Joseph Perrier will be represented by Bancroft within the M25 area. Bancroft will also 'feed into regional opportunities' where there is currently no representation in place.

'We have been actively seeking Grande Marque representation to complement our established grower offering and strengthen our champagne category,' Bancroft Wines managing director, Neil McAndrew, said.

'This rare opportunity has arisen to align our company values and work in partnership with Joseph Perrier in the market to build on the current sales and distribution.'

Martin Gamman MW, UK director for Joseph Perrier, said he is 'delighted' with the partnership.

'They make excellent partners for us because they share our approach to the market, they understand and appreciate our philosophy and fit into our existing model here in the UK while having the desire and drive to build long-term business together,' he added.

Joseph Perrier is a small, family owned Champagne House based in Chalons-en-Champagne.  It has been owned and run by the same family since 1888. Its current CEO, Jean-Claude Fourmon, is the fourth generation to be involved in the house.

Champagne Joseph Perrier owns 22 hectares of vineyards, located on the right bank of the river Marne, around Cumieres and Hautvillers, mostly planted with Pinot Noir and also including 2 hectares of Chardonnay.

Bancroft Wines already represents three grower champagnes in the UK market: Pinot Meunier based Champagne Gratiot Pillière from Le Marne Valley, Pinot Noir dominant Pierre Paillard Grand Cru Champagne from Bouzy, and Chardonnay based Grand Cru Champagne from Pierre Moncuit from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
