Prepare your finest glassware and ready the caviar: Beluga Vodka is back once more with its Beluga Signature programme. With both an educational and a competitive component, the on-trade programme will build on the theme of delivering luxury to customers.

First, interested bartenders should submit their twist on a classic vodka cocktail to the brand. Next, in April, 30 shortlisted participants will be invited to the Beluga Signature Bartender School for a full day of masterclasses led by industry experts, including Beluga Signature educational director Philip Duff and Marian Beke of The Gibson.

'The hospitality industry is centered on the guest, whose satisfaction is a main marker of success in a bartender’s career,' said Duff. 'Last year the seminars were about building a profitable bar, reading your guests and creating cutting-edge flavors using avant-garde techniques. This year we will talk about consistency of the luxury service, creating a memorable experience for your guest and, most importantly, applying your creativity consistently. Needless to say, everyone who gets through the initial shortlisting to attend these private seminars is a winner already!'

Once the educational stage is complete, the Bartender School attendees will be tasked with creating and submitting another drink. Ten contestants will be chosen to compete in a live challenge in May, where a panel of judges will ultimately choose one winner to represent the UK in the global competition.

Lastly, the grand finale. In September, seven global finalists will gather in Russia to compete for the ultimate prize: the title of Beluga Signature Global Ambassador 2020, the chance to represent the brand at international industry events and a one-week internship in one of the world’s best bars.

'The prize is truly amazing,' said Alessandro Venturi, Beluga Signature global winner for 2018. 'On top of all the travels and industry happenings, I spent one week in Singapore as an intern in the innovative Operation Dagger [number 23 in the 50 World’s Best Bars ranking].'

Keen to learn the ins and outs of creating a luxury experience for your guests? Get entering – applications for the Beluga Signature programme close 28 February.
