Imbibe's No & Low Taste Awards winner Big Drop brewery has unveiled Fieldhopper, the latest addition to its range
Fieldhopper’s style resembles a classic British golden ale. It has little carbonation, light grassy, spicy, earthy notes, fresh citrus and a touch of caramel. The palate is bitter, with flavours of grass and bread crust, and the finish is dry.
Only East Kent Goldings are used for this beer, making it Big Drop’s first single-hop brew.
‘We're all fans of the classic British country pub and wanted to create a beer to celebrate that, drawing inspiration from a late summer ramble to reach our favourite watering-hole,’ said Nick Worthington, commercial director of Big Drop. ‘So we sought out the most renowned British hop and made it the central character of Fieldhopper in all its rustic glory. The result will now be a permanent fixture in the Big Drop range as it’s a very popular style that also happens to answer the call for more vegan-friendly alcohol-free options.’
