If you think this week is all about London then think again. Edinburgh is preparing to host its 'biggest ever' cocktail weekend as 50 bars and 8,000 enthusiasts get involved.
The likes of Harvey Nichols, Tigerlily, The Printing Press Bar & Kitchen and The Voodoo Rooms have all got creative and designed a signature cocktail for the weekend which wristband wearers can imbibe for a mere £4.
Organisers have said highlights include Willy Wonka-inspired Violet Beauregarde at The Refinery, a tipsy ice cream milkshake at The Boozy Cow, an iced coffee cocktail at Eden Locke and 21 vegan-friendly cocktails.
'After months of planning we are really looking forward to seeing everyone setting off on their cocktail adventure this weekend as they sip, sample and socialise their way around the city,' organiser Gary Anderson said.
'The wonderful thing about the event is the variety of cocktails on offer, with no two cocktails being similar. It's a chance to enjoy your favourite flavours, but also an opportunity to experiment and discover something surprising.'
Edinburgh Gin, The Scottish Malt Whisky Society, Arbikie and Leith Gin will be on hand across the weekend to run masterclasses for wristband holders.
For the night owls, wristbands provide free entry before midnight to the city's late-night venues Opal Lounge, Lulu and Shanghai.
Wristbands (£6 or two for £11) are available here and can be collected from the Edinburgh Cocktail Weekend Hub at ANTA on George Street along with a free copy of the ECW Guide.
