Boutinot and Murviedro launch wines for the on-trade

Drinks merchant Boutinot and Spanish producer Bodegas Murviedro are launching a duo of wines aimed at the on-trade and independents.

There's the Faunio Viura Sauvignon Blanc, a blend of 85% Viura and 15% Sauvignon Blanc, described as fresh and fruity with mineral characters; and the Fauno Garnacha Syrah Monastrell, made of equal parts of the three grapes, with the Monastrell aged in oak for four months.

Boutinot's Spanish buyer Jean Wareing MW worked with the winery to develop Fauno. He said: 'The entry-level red and white wines combine indigenous Spanish and international varietals. Murviedro has the same approach to the wine we bring to market as us: that they should absolutely deliver at their price points and offer the classic character of their provenance along with the fresh, fruit-driven profile demanded by the UK palate at that level.'

Both wines are part of Boutinot's 'Made by Boutinot' portfolio, made up of wines made by the company with a vision of value for money at all price points.
