With most of the UK population now locked indoors due to the coronavirus outbreak, leading Scottish brewery BrewDog has announced it will be opening 102 virtual bars.

BrewDog's online bars will open this Friday, 27 March, at 6pm and the brewer promises they'll be ‘replicating the experience of every one of its bars across the globe’. Bars will welcome online guests with a series of events such as beer tasting, homebrewing masterclasses, pub quizzes, live music and comedy. The sessions will include Q&A opportunities and giveaways, too.

‘The role that community and great beer play in our society is now more important than ever,’ said BrewDog co-founder James Watt.

The brewer is also planning on hosting tasting sessions with guest breweries, owned brands Hawkes and Overworks, and BrewDog distilling.

Details on sessions, events, where the bar will be hosted and how to take part will be announced over the week on BrewDog’s social channels.
