Anyone on either side of the bar will remember the Frenchman's love for syrups from childhood holidays in France. Now Britvic's hoping the fashion moves onto drinks menu, and has introduced the Teisseire range of syrups to the UK on-trade.

It can be used into any form of drinks, from water to beer, cider, cocktails and hot drinks, and its roll-out in the on-trade comes in answer to a growing trend for personalisation of drinks, Britvic said.

The Teisseire Barman range, aimed at bars, includes traditional flavours such as peach, grenadine and passion fruit, as well as sugar cane, Mojito, blue curaçao, coconut and cactus – the latter described as refreshing, tangy and a little spicy.

The Teisseire Barista range has flavours more suited to hot drinks, such as amaretto, chocolate, Irish cream, caramel, hazelnut and vanilla, plus sugar-free variants of the latter three.

Nigel Paine, out of home commercial director at Britvic, said: 'Teisseire’s authentic taste delivers a unique drinking experience by prioritising flavour above all else. This extensive range of syrups allows baristas and bartenders to create exciting flavour combinations, not just for cocktails and coffee but for long drinks, spirits, soft drinks, beer and cider. This will not only give consumers a wider choice of exciting drinks but also allows outlet managers to offer more varied menus and create value opportunities.'
