Swedish brewery Brutal Brewing, the team behind successful lager brand Pistonhead, has launched its core range of beers to the UK on-trade.
The range consists of six hop-forward brews. Brutal's flagship beer is Ship Full of IPA (5.8% abv), an American-inspired ale flavoured with Magnum, Cascade, Amarillo and Galaxy hops; the brewery claims it's the best-selling IPA in Sweden.
A no-abv version of the Ship Full of IPA is available too, created through the vacuum distillation process. The base beer is full-strength Ship Full of IPA. Its alcohol is boiled off at low temperatures (42°) after fermentation, and the beer then is dry-hopped to give it extra flavour and texture.
The lineup continues with Tail of the Whale (4.8% abv), a German-style wheat beer fermented with Scottish ale yeast and dry-hopped with Citra; Cirrus Cloudy Lager (5.1% abv), an unfiltered pilsner made using organic Hallertau Tradition, Palisade, Cascade and Humor hops and organic Pilsner malt; Hale to Nothing (4.5% abv), an English-style pale ale; and Session Pale Ale (3.5% abv), a low-abv beer made with American, German and Australian hops.
Brutal Brewing was officially launched at last month's Craft Beer Rising and is now available to the on-trade through distributor Proof Drinks. More beers from Brutal Brewing's range will be introduced into the UK later in the year.
