Caledonian Brewery launches Autumn Red ale

08 September 2016

With summer drawing to a close, Scottish brewery Caledonian has unveiled the lasted edition to its seasonal guest ales – Autumn Red.

Joining other seasonal varieties - First Dawn, Golden XPA and Cold Comfort - the ale, coming in at 4.4% abv, is described as having a light hoppiness and comforting spice.

Caledonian markets the beer as having sweet caramel notes from rye crystal malt, that combine with the aroma of Hersbrucker hops to provide a mellow, fruity finish.

'Autumn can sometimes be a challenging time for publicans as the summer fun fades to a memory and drinkers might opt to stay indoors as the weather gets colder,' said Craig Steven, beers manager for Caledonian. 'It's the perfect match with comforting hot dishes such as game pies and sausage and mash, so try suggesting it to diners alongside your autumn menu to see sales increase and drinkers spending more.'

Autumn Red is available to order on draught throughout the UK.
