County Durham-based Camerons Brewery is set to release a new range of 14 beers in 2019. Dubbed  'Anchor’, the new range consists of three additions to the core range (one keg and two cask beers), and 11 seasonal ales released on a monthly basis over the year.

The theme for the range of new brews was inspired by Camerons' coastal heritage, with each beer’s name bearing a nautical reference.

‘The brewery has never really celebrated its coastal heritage with a range of beers,’ said Camerons' Phil Bebbington.  ‘We felt it was time to develop this and working alongside our new brewing team here we have created some beautiful new beers.’

The permanent beers, developed and trialed by head brewer Chris Deakin, are based on classic British styles, but have been designed to display a more modern touch.

Sanctuary, first launched as a preview earlier this year, is a pale ale available in both cask and keg at the strength of 3.8% and 4.0% respectively. In January, Camerons will release Old Sea Dog, a 4.3% brown ale, while the third permanent brew hasn’t been announced yet.

The first of the seasonal brews will be ready in February 2019, kicking off with Sea Coal, a 4.1% chocolate stout. The seasonal range will include well-known styles like best bitter and IPA, as well as more unusual ones such as dunkel hefeweizen, blonde, steam beer, pale rye, and red rye.
