Vancouver-based microdistillery Long Table is working with European importer JBE Imports and Speciality Drinks to introduce four of its spirits to the UK market.

Long Table said that its spirits each feature ‘a unique Canadian twist’, putting forth its Cucumber Gin as a primary example. The flavoured gin is made with cucumbers sourced from the British Columbian coast, and boasts vegetal cucumber notes along with hints of toasted pine nuts, citrus and pepper.

Meanwhile, its London Dry Gin blends eight botanicals, with the usual suspects of juniper and citrus joining earthy notes of fennel and pepper. On the palate, the distiller reports that it is juniper-forward, with celery and a bit of cashew nuttiness.

In addition to gin, the distiller is also rolling out its Texada Vodka, so called because it is polished over a bed of local limestone from Texada Island. It is distilled with lemongrass, which reportedly results in a floral fragrance, smooth texture and a smattering of subtle spice.

Long Table’s Langboard Aquavit rounds out the range. The Swedish-style spirit is crafted with a liquorice base, as well as caraway, fennel, anise and Seville orange. According to the brand, its powerful herbal notes give way to a lingering marmalade sweetness.
