Cellar Trends has bolstered its portfolio with Moskovskaya, one of the oldest Russian vodka brands in the market.

It’s a great name that conjures images of ruddy men in thick fur hats banging glasses together in rowdy Muscovite taverns and toasting comrades.

But it also has a strong following in many bars across the UK and has previously been distributed by Hi-Spirits. The new deal with Cellar Trends is designed to take it ‘to the next level’.

‘Moskovskaya offers quality combined with a rich heritage at a great price point, so we are confident that this will appeal to our customers,' Terry Barker, sales and marketing director at Cellar Trends, said. 'We are looking forward to working with the Amber Beverage Group to take Moskovskaya’s brand awareness and demand in the UK to the next level.'

It is part of a 'strategic alliance' between Cellar Trends and Amber Beverage Group, a large distributor in the Baltic region. Moskovskaya is the first 'step in this partnership'.

The vodka is blended with purified water and the finest grains and is said to be known for its elegant lightness, leaving a smooth and long-lasting sweetness.

It was introduced introduced in 1894 by the Russian state vodka monopoly and global sales now stand at 350,000 9-litre cases.
