The winners of the Chaine de Rotisseurs competition will be announced on 20 November at the Lanesborough Hotel, London
By the time the UK government had announced the national lockdown, the competition had already taken place but the awards ceremony, when the winner would have been decided, couldn't go ahead.
The new November date has been revealed this week by Philip Evins, Bailli Delegue de Grande Bretagne for the Chaine de Rotisseurs.
'This has left our worthy finalists on tenterhooks for the past few months’, Evins explained. ‘Now we can look forward to a celebration event in November for family, friends and Chaine members, when we will honour all they had achieved at the start of the year. Unfortunately, there are no World Championships to plan for, but the 2020 winners will be able to go forward to next year’s contests alongside the 2021 title holders.'
The somms in the final are Imbibe Hot Stuff Personality of the Year 2020 Melania Battiston (Medlar, London), Tony Lecuroux (Moor Hall, Liverpool), Zareh Mestrobyan, (Cliveden, Bucks) and Paul Robineau, (The Dorchester, London).
During the awards, the Chaine will also announce the winner of the Gerard Basset Trophy, this year in its second edition, destined to the contestant scoring the highest marks in the blind tasting and food matching section.
