English wine producer Chapel Down is launching prestige cuvée Kit’s Coty as part of a collection of three exclusive wines released from its single-vineyard Kent estate.
Made from the 'heart of the first pressing', Kit’s Coty Coeur de Cuvée 2013 is produced from the best blocks of Chardonnay within the Kit’s Coty estate, with juice exclusively from the first press cycle.

The second wine in the collection is described by head winemaker Josh Donaghay-Spire as a 'rich, elegant English sparkling wine with aromas of ripe green apple, hazelnuts and freshly baked brioche'.
Just 1,600 bottles of the cuvée have been produced, with each wine individually numbered and packaged in a gift box that mirrors the design of the bottle. It carries an RRP of £99.99.
Continuing the collection, the Kit’s Coty Blanc de Blancs 2013 (RRP £39.99) is produced from Chardonnay vines harvested in October 2013. Undergoing malolactic fermentation, 20% of the blend is matured in barrel before being left to age on its lees for three years. Aromas are said to be of ripe apple, candied lemon and toasted oats.
Finally, Kit’s Coty Chardonnay 2014 (RRP £29.99) is a wild-ferment Chardonnay matured in old French oak for nine months. Supposedly having aromas of melon and peach together with subtle toasted notes, the palate is described as being rich, yet fresh, leading to a long, mineral finish.
'Our vision has always been to produce exceptional wines from the Kit’s Coty estate; to push the boundaries of what can be achieved in this country,' said Mark Harvey, Chapel Down managing director.
'We are thrilled with the results and are excited to now share these wines with the market and the growing number of pilgrims of Chapel Down!'
