Conviviality adds Orion Wines to portfolio

07 March 2017

Powerhouse drinks distributor Conviviality has added a new Italian to its portfolio, multi-regional producer Orion Wines.

Founded by two friends, Luca Pomaro a 20-year veteran of the international wine scene and Alessandro Michelon, one of Italy’s most prominent winemakers, they wanted to bring intriguing and innovative wines to the global market.

Particularly strong in Veneto, Puglia, Campania and Sicily, Orion's Masseria Borgo Dei Trulli, Zensa and Tannu ranges will be available to the trade from next month.

While these ranges will be available via Bibendum and Walker & Wodehouse, the Rocca del Dragone and Tenute Fiorebello ranges will be available through Matthew Clark.

'We are delighted to be working with such a dynamic and fast-paced company such as Conviviality and very much looking forward to an exciting and fruitful collaboration,' said Orion's Elena Ciurletti.

'We are thrilled to be welcoming the creative and flexible Orion into the Conviviality fold,' added Andrew Shaw, group wine buying director for Conviviality.

'The addition of Orion to our portfolio adds depth and breadth to our regional offering from southern Italy and also fills a gap for a good quality estate from Puglia. We are very proud of the quality and diversity of our Italian portfolio and this addition highlights our regional focus and growing strength in Italian wine.'
