Diageo has announced the introduction of Ketel One Oranje to the UK market, adding to the new wave of super-premium and rather grown-up flavoured vodkas.

The latest product from Dutch stalwart of vodka, Ketel One, is the newest to join Diageo Reserve’s portfolio of World Class brands.

It is made by maturing Ketel One vodka over 24 hours with essential oils from Valencia and Mandarin oranges. The oils are crafted in Grasse, the perfume-making region in the south of France.

'The launch of Ketel One Oranje is a reflection of the continued demand for new and innovative variants in the super-premium vodka category,' said Nick Temperley, head of Diageo Reserve GB.

'As a whole the category remains hugely popular, with recent growth in the total trade – up 18% in volume and 14% in value. Ketel One Vodka is leading the way, significantly outperforming the category, up 57% in volume and 45% in value over the last year.'

Expect a balanced blend of zest and tang on top a silky softness that coats the tongue. Subtle sweetness is contrasted with orange freshness and crispness, with a warm hint of spice on the finish.

It is recommended with ice, as a Vodka & Soda or in an Espresso Martini.
