Distill focuses on the future of the non-alcoholic category

21 June 2017

Distill Ventures, the 'world's first and only drinks accelerator', has announced a new programme to grow and develop the budding non-alcoholic sector.

Founded and led by entrepreneurs to help build future drinks brands, the new venture is set to heavily invest in founder-led brands around the world, already having invested in Seedlip.

To celebrate the launch of its Non-Alcohol Drinks Trend Spotlight, a series of seminars, talks and sessions will be in place.

As part of this programme, Distill Venture has also launched a video on the topic. Full of first-hand perspectives, the footage features Distill Ventures co-founder Frank Lampen, Los Angeles’ Alex Day and Devon Tarby of Proprietors and Molly Kelley, general manager of Trois Mec, as well as Iain Griffiths, co-founder of Trash Tiki and Rory McCoy, co-founder of Raw Duck.

They all support the idea that many bars and restaurants are currently making non- or low-alcohol offerings like shrubs, drinking vinegars and kombucha in-house.

'We are thrilled to introduce the first report in this Drinks Trend Spotlight series,' said Dan Gasper, chief operating officer, Distill Ventures. 'I’m also thrilled to announce the first of our Spotlights and our Non Alcohol category business development programme, which includes both a cash investment and bespoke business acceleration.

'We look forward to hearing from independent entrepreneurs – be it bartenders, soft drink producers, or non-carbonated beverage makers – who are equally excited about this sector and keen to take the next step and turn their dream product into a reality.'

To coincide with the release of the short film, Distill Ventures is also offering a series of four £10,000 ($12,000) investments as part of a business development programme for entrepreneurs keen to develop a brand in this space. You can apply via the Distill Ventures site from June 20, 2017 until 31 July.

Attending Tales of the Cocktail? As part of the new programme, Distill Ventures will be hosting a seminar on non-alcohol on 19 July at the Hotel Monteleone.
