Many a drinks brand has been inspired by the oranges of Seville and next month, Don Papa will add a premium rum to the orange-tinted roster.

Don Papa Sevillana Cask is a blend of 4 to 12yo rums distilled from 100% Negros Island sugar cane. The spirit is aged in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, before spending three years in two different types of Spanish barrels: Oloroso sherry and Andalusian Vino De Naranja casks. According to Don Papa, the Vino De Naranja casks are used to flavour a local Seville orange spirit.

On the nose, the limited-edition rum claims to have Don Papa’s ‘signature vanilla notes, with boosts of orange rind flavours, nutty aromas and subtle dried fruits’. On the palate, the company describes the rum as ‘smoky and velvety’ with a ‘smooth long tangy finish’.

The Sevillana Cask joins the original Don Papa 7yo, Don Papa 10, Rare Cask and Sherry Cask Finish.
