The lists have been entered and we can now reveal the shortlisted bars for this year's Imbibe Drinks List of the Year

It's been an unprecedented year for the drinks industry, so this year's annual Drinks List of the Year competition looks a little bit different, with four brand new categories (and three golden oldies) to reflect the changes due to Covid-19.

The criteria for this year's judges, however, are the same. Aesthetics are as important as drinks selection; navigability and customer-friendly presentation are rewarded; and innovation complete with attention to detail and personality are all taken into account.

In the lists below there are blackboards, contactless and tech-friendly entries (a sign of the times); beautifully illustrated tomes, and some welcome good humour. There are also some new faces to the competition, as well as some old friends. But above all, we believe the shortlist represents the resilience and creativity of this wonderful industry.

Congratulation to all of the bars listed below, and thank you to all who entered – this year's entrants are all worthy of applause.
