Freelance event and festival bar staff were omitted from the government’s furlough scheme and have been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic
‘Many of these individuals make their annual income working between April and December each year at festivals and events and as a result didn't quality for PAYE furlough on the basis that very few of them had been working in January and February 2020,’ explained the charity’s CEO Ross Carter.
The Drinks Trust will provide support directed specifically at this overlooked workforce through its Festival and Events Bar-Staff Support Service.
