Excellent news for lovers of gin and the prolific Mr Lyan – this Saturday 10 June, 10 limited edition bottles of Mr Lyan gin will be available to buy from Super Lyan to mark World Gin Day.
The gin, made exclusively for the Mr Lyan team, will be numbered and signed, and sold at £30 on a first come, first serve basis.
Not only this – on the day that imbibers around the world celebrate all things juniper, those who purchase a bottle will also receive a Hedgerow cocktail – an old favourite from the menu of Super Lyan’s predecessor, White Lyan.
The gin itself was designed to be a classic juniper-forward workhorse, and is packed with coriander and citrus peels giving a brightness beyond the initial hit of juniper. Finished with Mr Lyan water, it’s now the standard mixing gin across Mr Lyan’s bars and projects.
As for the Hedgerow - which was an instant classic in White Lyan – it’s a twist on a Clover Club made with Mr Lyan gin, sourdough, lime and redcurrant soda. The sourdough provides a malty background, cut-through by the red fruit’s acidity.
Super Lyan is the latest bar in the Mr Lyan family – the brand from Imbibe’s Personality of the Decade, Ryan Chetiyawardana. Its menu, titled ‘Bitchin’ Classics’ features the standards of the cocktail world with a Mr Lyan twist.
World Gin Day, entering its ninth year, is organised by Gin Monkey and is a fantastic excuse – if you needed one – to get together for a G&T.
