Former Beavertown brewer set to open Earth Station brewery

09 January 2018

With time spent at Beavertown, Meantime and Dark Star, it's safe to say former head brewer Jenn Merrick knows a thing or two about beer.

Harnessing her experience and knowledge, Merrick is set to open a brand new brewery in east London's Royal Docks later this year. Focusing on 'fresh, hoppy' beers, the new brews will be made in a 20bbl kit, designed by business partner Gravity Systems.

Earth Station will be opened with the goal of providing 'community and infrastructure' in the local Stratford area, working alongside charity Create London. The brewery will also give opportunities to women and other under-represented groups in the brewing trade.

Along with brewing what we expect to be exceptional beers, Earth Station will also be part of an apprentice scheme called The Pipework Project, a community education project working to develop new brewers across the industry.

Merrick hopes the brewery will be in operation by late summer 2018.
