Fourpure and Jameson release Irish coffee imperial stout Nightcap

21 November 2019

Bermondsey’s Fourpure Brewing Co has partnered with Jameson Irish whiskey to create a barrel-aged Irish coffee imperial stout called Nightcap. The 9% abv beer follows the release in September of the limited-edition Jameson Caskmates Fourpure Edition whiskey

The creation of the beer started with Jameson whiskey barrels which were shipped from Ireland to Fourpure. The brewer’s imperial stout was aged in the barrels before blending back and adding fresh coffee beans.

‘The resulting beer contains six different malts with hints of vanilla and heavy roast flavours of rich coffee and cocoa,’ the brewer said, while the barrel-ageing process ‘provides a rounded oak finish and a warm taste of whiskey’.

Adrian Lugg, head of marketing at Fourpure Brewing Co said: ‘We’re very proud of Nightcap. It’s another example of our continued innovation, pushing flavour boundaries and giving customers something extraordinary outside our core range of beers.’

Nightcap will be available to the on-trade from 25 November.
