Funkin has added Espresso Martini to its range of one-litre pre-batched cocktail mixers – meaning the lack of a coffee machine will no longer stop a bar shaking up one of Dick Bradsell’s classic concoctions.
The pre-batched Espresso Martini cocktail mixer is made using a blend of Arabica cold-brew coffee, coffee extract and a hint of vanilla, which the brand describes as delivering ‘a rich and indulgent flavour’.
Invented back in 1983 in Soho, London, the drink has gone on to become a modern classic and bartenders across the country will be familiar with the predicament of a customer with their heart set on the cocktail and no coffee machine to make it.
Now the mixer will allows pubs and bars to easily serve an Espresso Martini without the need for coffee-brewing equipment or brewing coffee in advance to meet demand. They simply need to add vodka and the mixer to a tin with ice and shake.
Funkin says all its cocktail mixers are made without artificial colourings, flavourings, sweeteners or preservatives.
‘The Espresso Martini is seeing a spike in popularity as classic cocktails continue to gain appeal,’ said Andrew King, Funkin managing director.
‘It was a natural next step for Funkin to add this serve to our repertoire of premium pre-batched cocktail mixers, providing customers with an efficient and consistent solution, so they can easily recreate this great-tasting drink time and time again.’
Funkin’s pre-batched Espresso Martini is available in one-litre cartons in cases of six for the on-trade. Each carton makes 10 cocktails and has an ambient shelf life of up to 12 months unopened and 10 days in the refrigerator once opened.
