Funkin has taken inspiration from the kitchen for its two latest syrups, Jalapeño and Smoke.

The brand said the popularity of barbecue and Mexican restaurants showed customers were interested in such smoked and spiced flavours, and that demand for cocktails inspired by those trends is growing.

The Funkin Pro Smoked Syrup is made using smoked oak wood, while Funkin Pro Jalapeño Syrup uses ground jalapeños.

Funkin managing director Andrew King said: 'As leaders in cocktail innovation, it’s natural that the newest products to join our single-batch syrup range target current consumer consumption trends, which include the rise in American and Mexican dishes and cocktails.'
