Funkin releases spiced syrup

Funkin is expanding on its most recent range, the single batch syrups, with the launch of the Funkin Pro Spiced Syrup into the on-trade.

Available from September, it's described as a rich infusion of nutmeg, cinnamon, star anise, cardamom and cloves. Its recommended use is mainly in cocktails, but it's suggested as a base for falernum too.

It was first revealed at Funkin's inaugural Innovation Forum last year, where a group of bartenders were gathered by the company to talk about current and growing trends.

Funkin managing director Andrew King says: 'The Funkin Innovation Forum is another way for us to stay connected with bartenders by giving them the opportunity to sample and feedback on our latest innovations. Our products are made by bartenders for bartenders and we value their opinion.

'Funkin Pro Spiced Syrup is a great example of a product we collaborated with bartenders on. This was first introduced at last year’s forum and after taking feedback on board we now have a premium finished product that fills a clear gap in the on-trade market.'

It completes a range that currently includes earl grey, ginger and rhubarb flavours – with further new products to be announced later in the year.
