And we're off! Imbibe Live Online, part of Global Bar Week, has officially started. Here are the highlights of Day 1 and what you can expect today (Tuesday 13 October)
Global Bar Week, the brand new worldwide networking and education event, is taking place this week (12-18 October) and sees Imbibe Live unite with BCB Berlin, BCB Brooklyn and BCB São Paulo for a week of sessions from some of the industry's most influential figures. Through product presentations, virtual tastings, online seminars and lectures as well as networking opportunities, Imbibe Live Online offers visitors insight from leading drinks experts and the chance to discover trends, new products and share stories and ideas.
All sessions are also available on demand, so you can still see yesterday's (Monday 12 October) highlights, which include:
Where are we now? Lessons learned since reopening and preparing for the future Iain McPherson (Panda & Sons, Edinburgh), Bobby Hiddleston (Swift, London) and Lyndon Higginson (multiple bars including Science & Industry, Junkyard Golf Club, and Wold at the Door, Manchester) discuss the impact of reopening and further restrictions on the industry and how venues can weather the storm, from operating more profitably to preparing for future challenges.
Leading the way to creating a sustainable hospitality business Jonathan Raggett (Red Carnation Hotels), Kate Sandle (B Lab UK), Andrea Rasca (Mercato Metropolitano), Nathan Larkin (Speak in Code) and Louisa Dodd (Sustainable Restaurant Association) examine how the hospitality industry can help tackle some of the biggest global challenges and improve its impact on the environment, workers, the community and customers.
Agave Martini – The Next Modern Classic Cocktail? Global bar & drinks consultant, Megs Miller, takes you through her favourite cocktails to make with agave spirits.
