The distributor has unveiled the 11th iteration of its Tio Pepe En Rama fino Sherry
The wine was bottled last month, between 23 and 24 April and will be available in both the 750ml and 375ml formats.
'This is one of the most spectacular editions of Tio Pepe En Rama that I have had the fortune to select,' said Gonzalez Byass master blender Antonio Flores. 'At the bodega we view the biological ageing of the sherries as our second terroir. It is this second terroir that enables us to maximise the unique character of the albariza soil – a delicious chalkiness with almond and floral notes – resulting in a seductive cocktail of flavours.'
As with the previous editions of this wine, Flores chose the barrels that made the En Rama from Gonzalez Byass' historic cellars of Constancia and Rebollo. After an initial selection of 196 casks, Flores picked the final 69 that made it to the blend.
Gonzalez Byass UK announced it will be donating the profits from the 2020 Tio Pepe En Rama to The Drinks Trust.
