Greenall's unveils new bottle design

16 March 2017

Greenall's has had a makeover, launching a new bottle design and packaging for its 250 year old London dry gin.

Launching yesterday at The Cheltenham Festival to a captivated crowd of gin lovers, the new bottle is inspired by gin bottles in the 1700s, found in the distillery archives. With smooth, rounded edges and premium embossing etched on the bottle, there is also the inclusion of the Union Jack flag in full colour – designed to reflect the brand's history and heritage.

Described as the 'original London dry gin', the brand dates back to the circa-Gin Lane year of 1761, and is the UK's second best-selling standard gin brand. Crafted in Warrington by master distiller Joanne Moore, the botanicals include wild Tuscan juniper, Moroccan coriander and Spanish lemons. And, if you're needing even more of a juniper hit, the new bottling includes Wild Berry Gin and sloe gin set for autumn.

'We are continuing to see exciting growth in the gin category globally and want to ensure our packaging reflects the rich history as well as the outstanding quality of our gin,' said Enzo Visone, executive chairman and co-founder of Quintessential Brands. 'Greenall’s is the benchmark of excellent gin and we feel it is important for consumers to hear and see our story and know they can trust the quality of our gin; the new bottle design helps us achieve this.'

Available to the on-trade from May, the new bottling will also run across all four sizes – the 1l, 70cl, 35cl and 5cl.
