Halewood more than doubles wine offering with latest deal

08 September 2017

Halewood Wines & Spirits has more than doubled its wine offering in 2017 and has inked a deal with yet another brand, family-owned Bonfils.

The decision to incorporate Bonfils is said to complete Halewood's offering, which now covers wines from celebrated wine-growing regions around Europe and across the New World.

'Bonfils wines represent the renowned appellations of the south of France that are popular with customers, as well as championing lesser known wines that the trade will now have the opportunity to discover and enjoy,' Andrew Turner, director of wine for Halewood Wines and Spirits, said.

'This latest deal means that the number of wines offered by Halewood and its agencies has more than doubled in 2017.'

Founded in 1870 by Honorine Bonfils, Bonfils has stayed in the family for six generations. The estate as a whole has 17 winemaking properties, a collection of châteaux and domaines, totalling more than 1,600 hectares of vines.

In March, Halewood announced it had secured a new, three-year £50m debt facility to help fund expansion plans.
