The momentum just keeps building at Halewood Wines & Spirits. After announcing the possibility of a sale last month and flaunting a £7m distillery investment for its whisky brand John Crabbie & Co, Halewood has secured the distribution rights for Beluga’s Russian vodkas to the UK and Ireland.
Halewood is taking the reins from Cellar Trends from 1 July, supplying Beluga to both the on- and off-trade. The deal covers a range of Beluga vodkas, including Beluga Noble, Transatlantic, Allure, Gold Line and Hunting.
‘Halewood has built a proven track record for taking brilliant brands further,’ explained Sergey Mikhaylov, export manager at Beluga Group. ‘As such, we’re confident the business can deliver significant growth for us in the UK, which remains one of the world’s largest luxury vodka markets.’
'Beluga has built a worldwide reputation for producing high-quality vodka and for that reason it’s an excellent extension of Halewood’s existing range of innovative and artisanal spirits,' said Stewart Hainsworth, Halewood's group CEO. 'We see tremendous opportunity to take the brand on to even greater success.'
It is estimated that the sale of Halewood will net £200m – a figure that is only bound to rise as the company tucks brands like Beluga into its spirits portfolio, which already contains the likes of Whitley Neill Blood Orange and Rye, Liverpool Vodka and JJ Whitley Potato and Rhubarb Vodkas.
