Drum roll please: Imbibe Live’s final line-up of features has just been announced, and it’s packed full of the hottest names in the drinks industry and a variety of brand-new content.
First and foremost, the organisers have designed The Tasting Room, a theatre dedicated entirely to flight tastings, with sessions led by names such as Imbibe’s Sommelier of the Year Jan Konetzki (Palate Training) and Educator of the Year Hannah Lanfear (Marginal Gains), plus presentations on Méthode Champenoise Cider and How to Capture the No/Low Abv Opportunity in Your Bar, in partnership with Pernod Ricard.
The Chef’s Table is another brand-new theatre, devoted exclusively to the art of food and drinks pairing, while the Industry Matters theatre has been devised to explore crucial issues affecting the hospitality industry such as mental health, gender equality and sustainability (read more on Imbibe Live’s sustainability focus here).
Back and better than ever
The popular Winemakers’ Cellar is back, with the purpose to give somms a dedicated space for exclusive tutored tastings. The list of masterclasses is simply eye-watering, with names such as Ata Rangi, Opus One, Trimbach and Pol Roger spread across the two days of the show.
The Beer & Cider Hub is another big favourite of Imbibe Live, this year led by beer ambassador Mitch Adams and cider ambassador Tom Oliver. Garrett Oliver will be there (just saying…), as well as Wild Card’s Jaega Wise, who will be hosting a session on creating a beer list fit for a restaurant.
At the heart of the show will be Imbibe Live’s Centre Stage, with tasting, demos and competitions finals, including Shakes & the City, The Tapsters and the last, epic, decisive edition of Bartenders v Sommeliers.
Finally, mixologists will find their own heaven in The Cocktail Lounge, which will feature talks and masterclasses, while The Wine Bar will give wine professionals a chance to sample a range of labels from smaller producers.
The Snack Show, this year in its inaugural edition, will be running alongside Imbibe Live and sharing the floor at Olympia. The Snack Show will be bringing together producers, buyers and experts from across the snack industry and connect them with hospitality professionals by sharing ideas, innovations, flavours and new opportunities.
