It seems silly that in this day and age, with self-driving cars and the Iphone X, we still need ice in ice buckets, right?
Well, the solution is here: Kaelo. After being dripped on by a champagne bottle in a restaurant, Kaelo founder Kevin Jabou knew there had to be a better way. So, he invented Kaelo, a 60cm tall, freestanding iceless ice bucket that can be plugged in anywhere, ready for perfectly chilled wine every time. 'Ice buckets are a pain, they are clumsy, they drip everywhere, the wine doesn’t stay at the right temperature,' insisted Jabou on the launch.
Using a patented cooling system to ensure that wine is served at the perfect temperature, the bottle stays completely dry, with a simple tap on its touch-sensitive crown needed for activation. There are also 27 different coloured illuminations. Fancy, eh?
Promising to remove the ‘hassle and mess’ of an ice bucket, the latest Kaelo model is a step up from the original model’s understated design, rocking clean lines, and simple finishes in glossy piano black, arctic white, oak and walnut veneer.
We're not sure if not getting dripped on is worth a cool £1,295, but it's pretty cool, in more than one way.
