La Part des Anges, the charity auction organised by the cognac industry, raised a record amount this year for the Fondation Apprentis d'Auteuil, an organisation that helps underprivileged youth and vulnerable families.

The auction of rare cognacs was organised by the Bureau National Interprofessionel du Cognac (BNIC), raised  €265,700 (£230,800), which will be used to build a new kitchen at a hospitality and catering school.

Twenty-four decanters and blends were donated by cognac houses for the auction, while a separate platform for online donations was also set up, raising €9,000 to date for a further three regional associations.

La Part des Anges has now become a biennial event, meaning the next one will take place in 2018.
